Avis young driver fee — California, United States (ages 21–24)
Avis publishes $27 per day for this charge in California, United States. That figure comes from Avis's own page, checked on 2026-10-13.
When it applies
Stated on the San Francisco airport location page: minimum age 21, plus a daily surcharge while the renter is under 25. Avis directs renters to the location page for the fee that applies, so this is recorded for that location rather than for the whole country.
What it adds up to
Over a seven-day rental, using the published rates:
- California, United States (ages 21–24): $189 a week
That is arithmetic on the published rate, not a quote. The rental itself is priced per search and is separate.
How we checked this
We read Avis's own page and recorded the charge it states for young driver fee. Nothing here is averaged across locations, and where Avis publishes nothing we write "not published" rather than a figure of our own.

This link is how the site earns: if you book through it we may be paid a commission, and the price you pay is unchanged. It cannot change a figure in the table.
Check the same dates on an aggregator before you book — the base rate matters as much as the fees on this page.
