Sixt young driver fee — United States (ages 18–24)

Sixt does not publish an amount for this charge in United States. What it does say is below, and the counter is where the number appears.

When it applies

Eligibility starts at 21 in most US states and at 18 in New York and Michigan.

Where the number appears

Sixt keeps this charge out of its published fee lists, so there is no figure here to copy. It is set at the counter or when the booking is confirmed, which means the only way to see it before you commit is to read the total on a booking site that itemises every line before payment.

What you can do about it

Ask for the charge in writing before signing, and check that the total you are quoted already includes it. A charge that appears only after the booking is confirmed is the one this site exists to warn about — and it is the one a comparison of headline rates will not show you, because the headline rate is what the comparison is built on.

How we checked this

We read Sixt's own page and recorded the charge it states for young driver fee. Nothing here is averaged across locations, and where Sixt publishes nothing we write "not published" rather than a figure of our own.

This link is how the site earns: if you book through it we may be paid a commission, and the price you pay is unchanged. It cannot change a figure in the table.

Check the same dates on an aggregator before you book — the base rate matters as much as the fees on this page.
